Yes. Temporary addresses are free and need no account. If you want addresses that never expire, our optional paid plans add permanent addresses, custom usernames and more storage.

No. Open the homepage and you'll have a working address a second later. There's no username, password or phone number involved.

Usually, yes. Type a username before clicking Generate. It has to be 3 to 30 characters long, and a few names like admin or support are reserved. If someone is already using that name, you'll be asked to choose another.

No. Addresses are receive-only. If people could send mail from them, the domains would be used for spam within a day and get blocked everywhere.

10 minutes by default. The countdown on the address card shows exactly how much time is left, and it turns yellow in the last minute.

Press +10 min on the address card. You can do that a couple of times per address. If you need an address for days or weeks, a temporary inbox is the wrong tool. Use a Gmail alias instead.

The address stops accepting mail, and anything sent to it afterwards bounces back to the sender. The messages that were in the inbox are deleted from our servers within about a minute.

Not the messages. They're gone for good. You can create the same username again later if nobody else has claimed it in the meantime, but it starts with an empty inbox.

In order of likelihood:

• The site blocks temporary domains. Tap New address or change network, choose another network or domain, and sign up again.
• The sender is slow. Some services queue their emails. Give it a minute before trying again.
• The address expired. Check the timer. Anything sent after expiry is rejected.
• A typo. Use the Copy button rather than typing the address by hand.

That list is saved in your browser, not in an account. Clearing your browser data, using private mode or switching devices will start you with an empty list.

On our own domains, each inbox is tied to a private access token that lives in your browser. Someone who only knows the address can't open it. External networks such as Guerrilla Mail and Mail.tm have their own rules, so treat those inboxes as public.

Messages are shown in a sandboxed frame that blocks scripts, so an email can't run code on your device. The usual common sense still applies: don't type passwords into links from strangers, and don't open attachments you weren't expecting.

Only until the address expires. We don't archive messages, read them or use them for advertising. The privacy policy spells out exactly what's stored and for how long.

Please don't. You'd lose the ability to reset your password once the address expires. Temporary email is for sign-ups you don't care about keeping.

Another way of writing your existing Gmail address. Gmail ignores dots and anything after a plus sign, so jane.doe@gmail.com and janedoe+shop@gmail.com both reach janedoe@gmail.com. Our full guide explains it in detail.

Because they go to your own Gmail account. The generator only creates the address variations. It never sees your mail.
