Temp Mail for X (Twitter): Post and Browse Without Linking Your Inbox
X sends a steady stream of email: trending topics, 'people you may know', login alerts and digest summaries. If you are setting up an anonymous account, a research account or a brand handle you haven't launched yet, a disposable email keeps those messages away from your real inbox.
Anonymity on social media starts with the email you register with. X lets other users find you by email address unless you turn that off, so a temporary one is an easy way to stop your account from being linked to your real identity.
What X (Twitter) actually sends you
Email or phone at sign-up, and both get used
X takes one of the two. Whichever you give becomes the recovery contact and, unless you turn it off in settings, can be used by other people to find your account — a reason many people prefer not to hand over their main address.
Digest mail by default
Highlights, "popular in your network", new-follower notices and post recommendations are all on unless you disable them. A throwaway address absorbs them while you decide which to keep.
Research and monitoring accounts
Journalists, researchers and moderators often need an account that is not tied to their own identity to observe a community. Registering that on a separate inbox is the simplest part of keeping the two apart.

X (Twitter) and temporary email: common questions
Does X accept temporary email addresses?
Frequently, though some disposable domains are refused at sign-up. If an address is turned down, that is X's decision, and a regular email is the way in.
Can people find my account from my email address?
By default, someone who has your address can match it to your account. It can be turned off in Settings → Privacy and safety → Discoverability. Registering with an address nobody knows sidesteps the question entirely.
What happens if I lose access to the address?
You keep using the account while you are logged in, but you cannot reset the password or respond to a security alert. Add a phone number or a permanent email before that becomes a problem.
